The Dead and The Gone

This is the second book in the series 'Life As We Knew It.' I have already read and reviewed that book which you can see if you click on the linked text or the related post below. This is actually a 4 book series, I'm just doing these two separate from the series before I do a post for the books as a whole because they can be stand alone books.

Book 2, The Dead and The Gone, takes place in New York City following the life of a 17 year old boy named Alex Morales. Just like in the first book the world starts to fall apart and turn apocalyptic when a meteor strikes the moon and knocks it closer to the Earth. This effects A LOT of natural functions of our planet which result in states getting completely engulfed in water, food supplies stop, natural resources die out, volcanoes erupt, and people drop like flies because of it. Alex has to figure out how to keep his sisters safe when his parents never come home the night the meteor hit. This book is one of the most realistic apocalypse books I have ever read including situations that would happen in real life if our society has ever found ourselves in this unfortunate situation. Reading about how Alex fights to keep his sisters alive in a freshly dead world is truly thrilling. Stay tuned for book three, 'This World We Live In.'
