This is one of the most unique poem books I have ever read. Not only did the cover, which looks like a mix tape, catch my eye...but the overall layout of the book is remarkable. Alicia goes through her poems talking about the struggle with addiction and the falls and rises from it. Although about halfway through she retells the poems in a more in depth way. At the end of each poem is a song which I really enjoyed and reminded me of some throwbacks but helped me find some new music as well. What a powerful read.
