*If you haven't read Bird Box you definitely need to read that before you read Malorie/continue with this review or you'll be completely lost. Usually I do series together but I felt like this deserved it's own review.

Malorie

I ten thousand percent recommend this book to any horror lover or anyone wanting a story that takes you on an adventure while reading it. Malorie is so descriptive and vivid making you feel as if you're living in the post apocalyptic world with her. Josh Malerman does an amazing job giving you an inside look into Malorie's head and showing the true struggles of a mother between letting her children live and keeping them safe.

Malorie takes place 16 years into the apocalypse that caused people to kill themselves and others when looking at a creature that came from nowhere, sending them into a world reliant on sound and fearing sight. Malorie, and her two now teenage children, Tom and Olympia are starting to realize that life around them may be evolving and they're going to be left behind if they don't start following the new ways of the new world. Leaving their camp and going on a journey for a new possible safety, Malorie snuggles with PTSD and being a mother struggling to know if she's keeping her children safe, or hurting them more than anything out there.
