Ugly Love
I finally wanted to jump on the hype of Colleen Hoover books and decided that Ugly Love was a perfect debut into her writing. I have seen this book get filtered through my work quite often and have seen a lot of my favorite book bloggers read and review this book, so it was only a matter of time before I finally got around to it myself, which also kickstarted my interest in reading some of her other books such as 'Heart Bones' and 'It Ends With Us' which will be posted here in the next few weeks.
The book changes with each chapter telling the story of present day Tate Collins and 6 years past Miles Archer. Tate moves in with her brother while she goes to work as a nurse and continues to work on her career by furthering her degree. While moving in, she meets Miles, their neighbor and her brothers good friend. From that point on you witness her and Miles get to know each other a little more until it becomes a friendship...with benefits. Although Miles has the stereotypical "we can't fall in love" trope, you soon find out why and appreciate the unique trauma of Miles making you feel for him in the same way you do for Tate. In this page turning romance you experience lust, love, and heartbreak all in one read.
